A Wonderful Stay at Villa Ixchel
My husband and I had another wonderful stay at Villa Ixchel. This was our third time staying at one of Dave and Katy's rentals and everything was perfect as always. It is always a pleasure to deal with Kathy on the organization end of things. She is always meticulous and very prompt with her replies and with the details surrounding the rental. Our favourite place to stay is the guesthouse on Dave's property. It is removed from the hustle and bustle of North Beach and is the perfect place for a secluded getaway. I highly recommend any property that Dave and Katy own! My husband and I are looking forward to another stay at Villa Ixchel next year!- Stayed: December 2015

This is a great location and perfect for a relaxing getaway. Clean. Right on the water. Private Beach. Nice Pool. Comfy bed. Nice covered patio for shade. Great kitchenette and bathroom. Everything you need. Will definitely return. 15 min ride to town in golf chart. Buy coconuts from guy down the street. Great instructions from owner about travelling to island.- Stayed: January 2016

Great little spot to relax and re group!
Communication with Katy and Dave was easy from the inception of the planning of this trip. The Villa is clean, quiet and is very safe. Poli and Gladys maintain the property beautifully and Dave is willing to help in any way as well! The fresh water pool is refreshing and right outside your door. Laying in bed...you can see the ocean and Cancun in the distance. Clean beach with swim entry. The locals are friendly and helpful. We especially liked Sac Bajo as it was away from the downtown masses. A golf cart is the way to go here! We will return!- Stayed: November 2015

Fantastic Beach Getaway!
We stayed at Villa Quinta Ixchel over Halloween weekend and had an amazing time. We initially had lots of plans to kayak, dive, snorkel, shop etc but once we arrived to our gorgeous & private accommodations all we wanted to do was RELAX. With your own private pool & beach, it was the perfect place to chill and truly feel like you are on vacation with no worries in the world. Katy the owner was incredible as far as communication went & her father was there during our stay and answered any questions we had. It's a bit of a hike from town but a cab ride was only $6 or $7 each way but i recommend renting a golf cart in town before you get there for convenience. Cabs don't drive by as often as you'd like especially at night. The studio was clean and comfortable & we were able to hit up a grocery store to keep some goodies in the fridge. Highly recommend if you want to get away from the busy town center & are looking for a very quiet, relaxing and comfortable place to stay.- Stayed: October 2015

Hands Down The Most Relaxing Place I Have Ever Been!
Our stay at the Villa this past July was incredible! We booked the trip because a visit to Isla was on my bucket list and we were celebrating my 40th birthday. We lucked out since Katy was staying in the main house and helped us immensely with translation, suggestions, etc. However what we loved the most was our privacy. Private pool. Private little studio apartment. Private beach. Huge palapa overlooking the beach... I can see it in my mind right now. Poli and Gladys were friendly and immensely helpful and Gladys is an excellent cook! The beach is great for walking and treasure hunting. We were so inspired by the island and its people that we want to become fluent and move to Isla! If you are looking for privacy and relaxation, this is truly the place! We ventured out for grocery trips to Chedraui and jaunts to downtown, but mostly we stayed at the villa. It is paradise! We did rent a golf cart for transportation and also took a Whale Shark tour (go with Jorge), but really planted ourselves in Sac Bajo. We are already trying to figure out when we can go back... maybe forever! Oscar's has great pizza, but really the best cuisine is right at the villa if you can buy fish and have Gladys cook for you. She is an amazing chef! Just writing this review makes me want to book the villa again for next summer and not worry about it until the credit card bill comes! It is SOOOO worth it!- Stayed: July 2015

Great all around!
Just returned from a relaxing stay at villa Quinta Ixchel. The pool was amazing, the beach steps away, and the house has everything you need! We found the local resturants to be so tasty and affordable that we didn't even use the kitchen! The location of the villa was great, a very quiet part of town and felt very safe. Katy was wonderful to work with and we will return!- Stayed: August 2015

Wonderful, close to everything, yet far enough away to feel remote.
We loved the villa. Katy's correspondence was helpful, and her father, who stayed in the house nearby, was too. Even though we got to Cancun and it was flooded, and the ferry terminal was shut down, once we finally got there the day after we were supposed to, everything was perfect. The setup is a studio sort of room - kitchenette and king (I think) bed with two sliding glass doors. The restroom is around the back and seems pretty removed. Once you open one of the glass doors, you are at the foot of the pool, which runs out to the palapa that overlooks the sand, water, and palms. We ended up going to North Beach every day, but I think we could have just hung out at the Villa and have been happy. The location is awesome. We really enjoyed driving the golf cart everywhere. Close to Mango and Limon. And driving past the ice bar every day was humorous.- Stayed: June 2015

Visit 2 - Ah, Paradise!
We set trip for 10days this year, April 8 - 18th. So, So much better than a week. Once again our stay at Dave and Katy's Quinta Ixchel was wonderful. What we want is a first class place without all the fuss of a hotel or condo. This is it, beautiful inside and out. We also love the private pool, beach and setting. We always rent a golf cart for our stay and thus have best of our privacy at Quinta Ixchel and ability to go into town for Norte Beach, Dinner, Drinking etc... We typically split our beach time between staying at the Villa and going to Norte Beach. Perfect! Chris/Lisa St. Louis.- Stayed: April 2015

Yes....it's that good!!!
Our stay at Quinta Ixchel was Wonderful! We had stayed at Villa Rollandi the previous year, so the bar been raised pretty high...very hard to live up to. We were devastated to learn it had not only turned into a "all inclusive" (which we had come to avoid), but a Very pricey one as well. So, that's when we decided to do something we never had before and rent out a home instead. We weren't sure what to expect...we were wowed to say the least. After scouring the vrbo ads endlessly here's the reasons we chose Quinta Ixchel. It's located On Sac Bajo...so the ocean is calm and nice to swim in. The interior looked nice and modern. Private beach AND PRivate swimming pool...(what?!) being away from downtown and a gated property gave a peaceful atmosphere. Walkable, white sandy beach. Internet so we could FaceTime with the fam for free, and of course a beautiful view. Bonus features that we found after we were there...Gorgeous Views better than the pics show....on one side a pool large enough to actually swim in, and beyond that the beach and ocean....the other total glass side was the lush courtyard that is tended to daily by Poli and Gladys. A bar b q grill, that we did use, dish for tv, so although you don't watch too much tv, if you want to you have more than 2 English channels. Games, books, movies, iron, hairdryer., filtered water, spices...if you can think of it...Dave and Katy already have! Dave, by the way...is another great perk! He stays in the bigger house about 4 months of the year, he gave great suggestions on where to eat and things to do and see. He always seemed to slip out early to give total privacy...which he didn't need to do because he is an incredibly nice guy...and we feel we have made a forever friend! We definitely hope to stay there again. The only thing we could think of is while the rest of the real world was in blizzard conditions...it was 75-85 degrees on our trip, and very windy. This place was way more sheltered than the rest of the island....but the pool was still cold! (Not Dave's fault...but he's thought of that too. He said possible future plans for a solar panel for optional pool heating...that would be awesome!) All in all...couldn't have asked for more! Thanks again, Dave and Katy!- Stayed: February 2015

Paul and Mary's stay Feb 2015
A lovely peaceful place. Pool outside the door, your living room is the palapas. Private, quiet, a nice beach. The place is crisp and clean. Came back rested. Renting a golf cart from the caretaker is a good idea because it is a really long walk to stores or restaurants. You can take taxis for much less, but a cart is more convenient. Next time I'll bring water shoes for the ocean swim.- Stayed: February 2015

Very quite and private
My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Villa at Quinta Ixchel in Sac Bajo! The views are amazing, beach is very nice, room exceptionally clean and very well put together. The location is really ideal for seeing it all on the island. Renting a golf cart from the caretaker was an excellent and convenient option. Been back in the states for a day now and miss it already! We will be returning!!- Stayed: January 2015

Excellent place!
My husband and I stayed at this house and had a most enjoyable time. Private pool and beach on the ocean! The pictures do not even do it justice. It is a little ways from town so rent a golf cart and have fun!! We sure did. We felt very safe in the house as well as the island. The pool was pretty warm (due to being in direct sunlight) but, we found it to be a great refresher after being in the salty sea all day. The bed and pillows are very comfy, you will sleep well. We found working with Katie was a pleasure and the family that helps keep the house and grounds were such a pleasure as well.We plan to return to Isla and will book again with this charming hideaway!- Stayed: August 2014

Beautiful!
The pictures do not do this home justice. It is a beautiful spot! We ate breakfast on the patio and watched the sun set on the beach while listening to the waves. We cooled off in the pool pretty much every day. There are tour boats that dock next door, but we didn't find this an issue. They don't get there until 10:30-11am and are gone by around 4pm. Truthfully, they weren't that loud anyway. Isla is a quaint little island with some of the most beautiful water I have ever seen. The people are friendly and the margaritas are awesome! Be sure to eat at Limon and tell Sergio hi.- Stayed: June 2014
